REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST

We are a  well established private practice, requiring an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team of professionals at Oak Acres Dental with Dr. Larry Soden and Dr Sara Elhawli. We presently offer a position for a dental hygienist  to join our team for a permanent position for 2 days a week.

Schedule
  •  Tuesdays and Thursdays  8:30am - 6:00pm
  • Start Date: October 2018



Qualifications:
  • ·         Successfully completed a recognized dental hygiene program
  • ·         Diploma in a Dental Hygiene program • B.Sc. in Dental Hygiene
  • ·         A minimum of 2-3 years working experience as a Hygienist is preferred
  • ·         Fluent in English
  • ·         Current registration and member in good standing with the ODHA
  • ·         Current CPR and First Aid training 
  • ·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, an ability to       make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
  • ·         Ortho experience

Responsibilities:
 
  • Performs all aspects of clinical preventative hygiene services including scaling, root planning, polishing, topical fluoride, pit and fissure sealants, as well as impressions, dietary assessment, radiographs, ortho as instructed and  Zoom whitening to patients.
  • Serve as an oral health educator by introducing new preventative techniques and counselling.
  • Excellent record keeping skills.
  • Digital Radiography  Image captures.
  • Providing consistent patient experience during hygiene visit
  • Establishes strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
  • Establish and retain patient loyalty by delivering a tailored experience based on the patients’ expectations
  • Demonstrate active listening and empathy to patients using effective communication skills
  •  Perform quality control checks (e.g., x-ray, spore strips, and water lines
  •  Preparation of the treatment/clinical area.
  •  Perform simple laboratory procedures such as the pouring and trimming of study models.
  •   Set up all necessary instruments, materials, and equipment. 
  •  Sterilization of instruments
  • Supports all departments in the dental clinic and the by aligning individual contributions with those of the team .

 CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT

We are a well-established private practice, requiring an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic Certified Dental Assistant to join our team of professionals at Oak Acres Dental with Dr. Larry Soden and Dr Sara Elhawli. We presently offer a position for a Dental Assistant to join our team for a permanent position for 2 days a week.

Start Date: October 2018      Schedule : Tuesdays and Thursdays    8:30am - 6:00pm

Qualifications:
 
·         Successfully completed a recognized dental assisting program
·         Certification from a Dental Assisting program,   CDA I or CDAII
·         HARP Certified
·         A minimum of 2-3 years working experience as an assistant is preferred
·         Fluent in English
·         Current registration and member in good standing with the ODAA
·         Current CPR and First Aid training 
·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, an ability to make  patients feel comfortable and at ease.
·         Communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing 
 
Responsibilities:

Supports all departments in the dental clinic by aligning individual contributions with those of the team. Performing all regulated duties under certification qualifications as a dental assistant.
·      Chairside Dental Assisting
·      Radiograph image captures
·      Perform quality control checks  (e.g., x-ray, sterilization, spore strips, and water lines)
·      Preparation of the treatment/clinical area.
·       Instrument Set Up and Clean Up of Work Area
·      Perform simple laboratory procedures such as the pouring and trimming of study models and fabrication of mouthguards.
·       Set up all necessary materials, and equipment. 
·      Sterilization of instruments
·      Inventory Control
·      Equipment maintenance and monitoring
  • Establishes strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
  • Demonstrate active listening and empathy to patients using effective communication skills.  Strong documentation skills.
